Multipurpose Dam Works Core trench excavation and grouting completed. Embankment filling at 65–68%, vertical and horizontal filter media partially installed. Left and right bank intake towers completed. Spillway excavation 85% done. Access road (3.9 km) to dam site and balancing reservoir constructed. 68%
Water Supply Works Water Treatment Plant (40,000 m³/day) at 60–65% completion. External structures for clarifiers, flocculators, filters, and administration block near completion. Two 5-million-litre Mpanda Hill Tanks completed. About 8.8 km of PVC pipelines laid at Mponela. Chlorine and chemical buildings completed to structural level. 54%
Irrigation Works 4.9 km of Left Bank Canal cleared and leveled; excavation completed for 3.4 km. Right Bank Canal site cleared (2.5 km). Box culverts constructed at Chainage 0+300. Design for night storage reservoirs and primary canal system finalized. 11%

Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) ESIA approved by MEPA; conditions implemented. Catchment co-management MOU signed with the Department of Forestry. Quarry license and environmental permits obtained. 100%
Resettlement Action Plan (RAP) RAP approved by the Ministry of Lands. Compensation payments effected for 1,125 PAPs totaling MWK 6.14 billion. Additional PAP assessments completed for fisheries ponds and extended canal and dam area. 90%
